Below are some rules that have been put in place so participants can have a memorable and safe event.

• e-bikes are prohibited from taking part in Ride Abuja.
• All participants are required to ride behind the pilot vehicle until a commissaire flags off the official start of the race at Km 0. Any cyclist who rides ahead of the pilot vehicle before Km 0 risks disqualification.
• For safety of participants, cyclists who don’t pass Km 40 within 2 hours and 15 minutes of the race start must discontinue the race and proceed to the start point at Eagle Square and will not be eligible to receive a finisher’s medal. Participants must cross the finish line within 4 hours and 45 minutes of the start of the race to be eligible to receive the finisher’s medal.
