76 Cycling Club Announces Ride Abuja

Abuja, Nigeria: 76 Cycling Club Abuja Roadies Announces “Ride Abuja” — An 84km Cycling Race Set to Energize Nigeria’s Capital

Cycling enthusiasts across the country are set for an exciting showcase of endurance, speed, and strategy as 76 Cycling Club Abuja Roadies officially announces Ride Abuja, an 84-kilometre competitive cycling race scheduled to take place in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

The race will flag off from the iconic Eagle Square, bringing together elite and recreational cyclists in what organisers describe as one of the most ambitious road cycling events ever staged in the Federal Capital Territory. Participants are expected to travel from all parts of Nigeria, reinforcing the event’s national appeal and growing cycling culture.

To ensure safety and proper race formation, the competition will begin with a 4-kilometre neutralized zone, allowing riders to roll out under controlled speed before competitive racing officially begins.

The carefully designed course will pass through major roads across Abuja, showcasing the city’s modern infrastructure and scenic terrain. The highlight of the race will be the queen segment at Sunrise Climbs, featuring an average gradient of 7.2 percent. Organisers believe this demanding ascent will serve as the defining moment of the race, where both male and female riders will battle for tactical advantage and ultimate victory.

“Competitors will race for mouth-watering prize money reserved for podium finishers, while every participant who successfully completes the 84-kilometre course will receive official finisher medals in recognition of their endurance, resilience, and achievement,” said Katka Gonyok, Captain of 76 Cycling Club Abuja Roadies.

Registration for Ride Abuja is currently open and will close on June 30, 2026. Interested cyclists are encouraged to register online at www.rideabuja.com.

Corporate organisations, brands, and partners interested in sponsorship opportunities can reach the organisers via email at info@rideabuja.com or by calling 07031646337 for sponsorship consideration and partnership discussions.

Beyond competition, Ride Abuja aims to promote healthy lifestyles, urban sports tourism, and sustainable mobility while positioning Nigeria as a growing destination for organized road cycling events. With anticipation already building nationwide, the race promises a thrilling celebration of athletic excellence and community spirit on the streets of the nation’s capital.
